Set up your display board
Everything you need to get your Bimah board running — from buying hardware to going live.
Which computer and screen to buy
Computer / Mini PC
Any small Windows PC that can run a web browser will work. We recommend a mini PC (like an Intel NUC, Beelink, or MeLE Quieter) with at least 4GB RAM and Wi-Fi. Budget: $80–$150.
Screen / Monitor
For horizontal boards, a standard monitor or screen (32"–55") with HDMI input works great. For vertical boards, choose a monitor that supports portrait rotation, or use a VESA mount to turn it sideways.
Cables & mounting
You'll need an HDMI cable to connect the PC to the screen. Consider a VESA wall mount for a clean installation. Make sure there's a power outlet nearby for both devices.
Installing the Bimah Kiosk Launcher
What is the Bimah Kiosk Launcher?
The Bimah Kiosk Launcher is a small Windows application built specifically for shuls. It opens your display board in fullscreen kiosk mode — no taskbar, no browser address bar, no pop-ups. It auto-starts when the PC turns on, keeps the screen awake 24/7, and automatically recovers if anything goes wrong.
How to install it
- 1.Download the file above and save it anywhere on the PC (e.g., Desktop).
- 2.Double-click BimahLauncher.exe to run it — no installation wizard needed.
- 3.Enter your display board URL when prompted (see "Connecting your display URL" below).
- 4.The launcher opens your board in fullscreen and adds itself to Windows Startup automatically.
Connecting your display URL
Step 1 — Get your unique URL
Use the Display Link Picker to generate your shul's unique Display Link. Choose your location, language, board style, and orientation. Your URL will look something like: bimah.app/lakewood/basic-hz/en
Step 2 — Enter it in the Kiosk Launcher
When you first run the Bimah Launcher, it will ask for your display URL. Paste your URL into the field and click Save. The launcher will immediately open your board in fullscreen and remember the URL for all future starts — you won't need to enter it again.
Changing your Display Link later
To use a different Display Link, simply run the Display Link Picker again, copy your new link, and paste it into the Bimah Launcher.
